- סוּד(cmp. זוּד, to boil, fr. which סִיד lime; denom. סוּד or סִיד (b. h. שִׂיד), to plaster, whitewash. Sot.VII, 5 סָדוּהוּ בסיד they whitewashed it (the altar) with lime. Ib. 35b.
